My DIY Vintage Suitcase Redo

I picked up a vintage suitcase a few months ago, with the intention of fixing it up to my liking. I couldn’t store anything in it, because it smelled awful, so something had to be done.

Here are photos of what I did…

DIY Vintage Suitcase Redo

I had to rip out its insides. A very smelly, dusty job. I recommend a dust mask.

Then I had to sand off as much glue as possible. This took some muscle.

Then came a couple coats of primer for plastics, inside and out.

Then a couple coats of the color.

Then I put fabric around some fitted foamboard for the inside.
And now it’s all ready for my craft fair display on Saturday!

I love it! Do you love it?! 🙂
I sure do love being crafty…
Happy Crafting!!

Casey 🙂

  1. Thank you! I've heard of people doing that. The lining was pretty easy to rip out, since the glue was old. Good luck with yours! Would love to see a photo when you're done! 🙂

  2. Oh this is just the info I needed. We're redoing my grandmother's suitcase to be a card holder for at my daughter's wedding.
